RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL

Responsible travel

We aim to have a positive impact in all the communities we visit. Through our training sessions and social projects, we empower women, indigenous communities and children. We are committed to working in a way that is socially and environmentally conscious with the aim of promoting a positive change.

Some of the social projects that we directly involved with are:

Our Clean Up Campaigns

Glamping Peru Treks has annual clean-up campaigns that creates awareness towards people across the planet that have the same desires to help protect the environment. It is our commitment in creating a positive and sustainable contribution towards the quality of life for rural Andean communities.

Our Education Campaigns

Glamping Peru Treks believes it is extremely important for local communities especially the children to receive an education. Part of our education campaigns is teaching the children from these local communities about their heritage and culture. We hold annual field trips to Machu Picchu and various other sites so they can learn about their roots and history. We also hold annual visits to schools in local communities to give out school supplies. It is our mission to spread these views to other tour operators within the region.

Our Christmas Social Project

We kick off our annual Christmas social project focused on helping communities surrounding the imperial city of Cusco and the Sacred Valley. We journeyed towards the community of Pacchanta, located within the district of Ocongate (home to Ausangate Mountain). This quaint and isolated community is home to about 400 people or so. Glamping Peru Treks was able to complete this project successfully with the help of its dedicated team members!

We usually have a traditional “Chocolatada navideña” or a Christmas party with hot chocolate being the main theme. We also provide “Paneton” or a Peruvian style fruit cake. Peruvians considers this food the main staples during Christmas everywhere in the country. It’ s a delicious treat for these kids becuase they are not fortunate enough to have such luxuries available to them.

We always try to spread Christmas cheer to many communities throughout our Christmas social projects every year. Past communities, we have been to included: Huacawasi and Kiswaran. Glamping Peru organizes their trips months in advance.

The children in these communities special to us due to their living conditions. We bring holiday cheer as most have never had the opportunity to own a toy or even meet Santa Claus or “Papa Noel”. Glamping Peru welcomes donations and volunteering for these social projects (please email us at: info@glampingperutrek.com for more details).

We at, Glamping Peru Trek, hope that anyone willing to participate or give donations for our social projects spread the word to help our social projects grow!
