Detailed Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel in our private before driving towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Passing the small, picturesque town of Chinchero, we wonder for a bit, visiting the adobe colonial church in the center of town. This church was built upon the foundation of an Inca temple in the 17 th century. Time permitting, we also get to explore a weaving center, watching the locals create the beautiful and colorful indigenous garments that many local people can still be found wearing around town.

Later we proceed to Pachamanca cooking spot. We take some time to observe the beginning of this important ritual, as they start the fire to heat the stones that will later be used to cook the food. Your guide will give you some information on why this ritual was and is still so important to the Incas and the people of Peru. Once the stones are being heated, we continue to the next part of our journey.
Once we are on way to the ATV camp, the guide covers the correct use of the ATV´s so we are ready for our visit to the Salt mines.

There we explore the incredible salt mines of Maras, a natural spring at the top of the valley discharging a small stream of water heavily laden with salt, which is diverted into salt pans and evaporated to produce a pink salt that is of very high quality, just as the Incas did for centuries.
Back to our ATVs, we are on our way to the archaeological site of Moray which is an agricultural laboratory from the Inca time, where they created various micro-climates for growing food. After our guided tour of this incredibly unique site, we are on our ATVs on our way through the Maras Moray area back to the ATV camp.  After, we get back onto our private transportation, to watch the final process of the Pachamanca, as the stones get removed and the food is served for your enjoyment.
The table is set to perfection and the food is accompanied by selection of refreshments, both lcoholic and non-alcoholic. Indulge in the extensive culinary experience that awaits you.

Once we have finished the delicious meal and said our thanks to Pachamama as the locals have done for many centuries, we heard back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.

  • Door to door service: The day of your trek we will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco. On return we will drop off at your hotel in Cusco.

    Boleto Turistico : This is the best way to visit all the archeological sites of the region and the Sacred
    Valley. Most of the main archeological sites are not accessible for free. Tickets are required for Chinchero,
    Maras Salt Mines and the archeological site of Moray Professional Bilingual Guide: You will have a guide that is highly professional, experienced and fluent in English throughout the trek. They are very knowledgeable and passionate about Inca heritage and history. You will get a
    two hour fully guided tour of Machu Picchu.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

Please read the following information carefully, as it will help answer most of your questions about our services and the Pachamancha Tour 

ARRIVAL IN CUSCO

You will be welcomed at the airport in Cusco and taken to your hotel. Please ensure that you inform us of your flight details at least 14 days prior to your trek. Look for our representative holding a board stating: GLAMPING PERU TREKS at the arrival’s terminal. You must exit the terminal to find our representative (they cannot go inside).

HOW TO BOOK:

Please be ready with the following information (FROM EACH PARTICIPANT in your group).  We cannot purchase an Inca Trail permit without the following information:

  • Personal information (your full name, exactly as it appears on your passport):
  • Gender
  • Passport number
  • D.O.B. (dd / mm / yyyy)
  • Nationality

SECOND, we require a deposit of $63 USD per person in order to secure your departure. You can make your deposit by clicking on the VISA or PAYPAL symbols on the top of our home page or booking page.

WHAT ABOUT MY REMAINING BALANCE?

To avoid the excessive credit card fees in Peru, you can pay in cash at our office (we accept US dollars or Peruvian soles) in Cusco. We have many ATMs within the historical center to withdraw money.  You can also pay by VISA or PAYPAL online but there is a 5.5% service charge, charged by VISA and PAYPAL.  To pay your balance through PAYPAL, you need to log into your PAYPAL account and use our email address glampingperutreks@gmail.com to complete the payment. 

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE THERE PER GROUP?

The maximum group size is 8 persons. Our groups are generally between 2-4 people. Glamping Peru Treks specializes in SMALL, PRIVATE groups while providing a personalized service.
